Two long time Middletown organizations were very gratified with the public turnout for their latest fund raising effort for a community service.    With the temperature getting up into the high 40’s this past Saturday afternoon everyone seemed in a good mood as they came out for the Middletown Lions Club and Middletown Hoffman Masonic Lodge Spaghetti Dinner Fund Raising Event.    400 adults and children attended at the Hoffman Lodge in downtown Middletown.

The Lions Club Mascot and John Stoltz welcomed patrons to the dinner including Mrs. Doris Schmidt.

The Lions Club Mascot and John Stoltz of the Masons welcomed patrons to the dinner including Mrs. Doris Schmidt.

Joan Stoltz, Chairman for the Lions Club and, Bruce Wiegand, Chairman for the Masons thanked all the volunteers and members of the public who came for the dinner.

Members of the Middletown High School Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (NJROTC) and the Eastern Star Rainbow Girls helped serve the dinners.

The funds raised benefited the Interfaith Food Pantry and the No Kid Hungry Program.  Use this link for more information on these programs by viewing an earlier post about them.

You could also take a chance on winning one of many gift baskets.   The children also enjoyed the Lions Mascot.

The Lions and Masons have a long history of community service projects such as this one.   Judging by the attendance it looks like the community would like to see many more.
