A Holiday Treat this weekend at SUNY Orange in Middletown

Morrison Hall Holiday Decorations

Have you been saying I can’t believe the holidays are already here, this will help put you in that holiday frame of mind.

This weekend you’ll be able to enjoy some very creative and beautiful holiday decorating at the college’s Morrison Hall.   It’s an open house, self-guided tour.

Holdays Morrison HallWhat you’ll be seeing has been designed and created  by the Middletown Garden Lovers Club.

They been decorating the mansion each holiday season for many years. This year they’ve transformed the foyer into a “Winter Wonderland”; the dining room into a scene from “Silver Bells — Christmas time in New York City”; the library into “White Christmas”.   There’s also a “Toyland” and whimsical look at a “Roaring Twenties” Auld Lang Syne.

The Carter Caroleers is celebrating its 30 Anniversary.

The Caroleers was formed at the Mechanicstown Elementary School in Middletown 30 years ago and has been singing holiday songs at hospitals, nursing homes, and community venues each year ever since.

When the Mechanicstown School was recently renamed in honor of it’s late longtime principal William A. Carter, the group updated it’s name to the Carter Caroleers.

Gail Johnson is the director.
