Your’re Invited–Middletown’s Christmas Tree Lighting


Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening (11/29/2013)  with a Parade though Downtown Middletown.

The parade starts at the Chase Bank and marches down North Street onto West Main and ends at Festival Square

  • 3 Bands are taking part
  • The Marching Middies
  • The Middletown City Band
  • The Maybrook Boy Scout Troop 236 Band
  • Also taking part will be other community groups such as boy and girl scouts.
  • The Middletown YMCA will be giving out candy canes along the way

Holiday Music by “One Swift Kick” begins at 6:00 p.m. at Festival Square.

  • You can enjoy music of the season while you wait for the parade to arrive at Festival Square.


  • John Degnan, Executive Director of the Middletown Business Improvement District says other guests will also be making appearances at the tree lighting.



  • In fact, he said it is expected that Santa will be making a grand entrance during the event.

Special Holiday Bonus for Everyone

A Free Performance of a  1946 Holiday Classic Film,  It’s a Wonderful Life, with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, will take place at the Paramount Theatre immediately following the tree lighting. 

  • The Paramount Theatre is located at 17 South Street in Middletown right around the corner from Festival Square.
