Middletown’s Christmas Tree Has Come To Town

2013 Middletown Christmas Tree at Festival Square

Next it’s on to the decorating of this big tree that was brought to Middletown’s Festival Square, 29-37 West Main Street.  It was fresh cut and immediately delivered and set up here.   It was donated by Canterbury Knolls, the housing complex, on Schutt Road.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERADon Wells of the Middletown Business Improvement District (BID) says getting it here was a volunteer community effort.  John Tresch of JHM Tree Service cut the tree down and helped get it into place here.  Regional Trucking provided the flatbed truck.  Middletown’s City Street and Parks Departments provided manpower and equipment.   The police department provided an escort.  Harry F Rotolo & Son Electricians will be putting on the 2,500 lights.

The next big event will be the official tree lighting ceremony.

That will be the evening after Thanksgiving, Friday November 29th.  Highlights for the evening are set to include  a Holiday Parade with Marching Band; Songs of the Season by local musical groups; A visit from Santa and of course the lighting of the tree.    We’ll have more details here  for you before the event.
